Suspicious male - Blakesley/Woodend area

Good evening,

A female runner was approached by a lone male in a vehicle on 2 separate occasions in recent weeks on the Blakesley Road between Blakesley and Woodend. The male made over-familiar remarks to the female which caused her to fear for her safety.

The male was driving possibly a light blue Ford Fiesta and is described as an Asian male, aged mid-20's - early 30's, thick trimmed beard, thick spikey hair with bright white teeth.

The male was seen on a third occasion to be driving a silver VW Polo.

No registrations were obtained.

The incidents occurred on:

Saturday 3rd August at around 845am

Saturday 10th August between 830am - 9am

Friday 23rd August between 9am - 930am

He made no attempt to leave his vehicle or grab the female but his actions caused her to feel uncomfortable.

Officers conducted patrols in the area this morning between 715am and 930am and will continue to pay attention to the area.

If going out running/cycling - please consider taking your mobile phone with you and utilise a body worn camera if you feel it would give some peace of mind. There are also products such as personal attack alarms which can be very effective in quiet areas. If you're able to, vary your route and tell people where you plan to go and how long you plan to be.

Please always report incidents of this nature to us - if we don't know they're happening we can't look to prevent them.

If the description rings any bells, please report to us either online or via 101 quoting crime reference 24000503816.

Many thanks

PC 911 Mel Carter
