Diwali 2024 - Advice.

Dear Resident

This year, Diwali takes place from Tuesday 29th October until Sunday 3rd November, with the main day of celebration being Friday 01st of November.

Households celebrating Diwali may be identifiable by decorations; may be left vacant and may have an increased amount of gold/jewellery inside. This can increase motivation and opportunity for offenders to commit family gold burglaries, therefore we may see a rise in this type of burglary over the next few weeks.

Advice to households

. Lock windows and doors.

. Ensure alarms and CCTV are switched on and working.

. Keep lights on inside the property when not at home.

. Make a note and take photos of valuable items.

. Store valuables securely elsewhere when not in use.
