Dear Resident In April, we set three local priorities – ASB Motorcycle Nuisance, Road Safety and Road Traffic Offences and Drug Dealing and Drug Misuse. These were based on what local people told us concerned them most in their neighbourhood, as well as local crime statistics and information from our partners (such as the local council). These priorities have been the focus of much of our work over the last Six months and below is an update about some of the work we have been doing to tackle them. ASB Motorcycle Nuisance There is now a dedicated officer assigned to Op Pacify – ASB Motorcycle Nuisance We responded to 76 Calls for service and investigated where appropriate relating to motorcycle ASB. 3 beat bus surgeries with more to come regarding motorcycle ASB. There has been a 76% decrease in ASB on the Kingswood estate. Monthly partnership meetings take place with town centre staff, Town centre management and the Retail crime team to manage ASB. Executed a warrant on an address and continue to develop intelligence around ASB. Seized 5 motorcycles. Worked with Northants telegraph to encourage reporting around motorcycle ASB. Person arrested and charges with offences relating to Motorcycle Nuisance and Drug misuse received a prison sentence. Set up a dedicated point of contact for members of the public to collate intelligence around motorcycle ASB. Operation Reassure has now commenced which is a planned activity with additional resources and officers providing directed patrols in known ASB hotspots such as the Town centre. Road Safety and Road Traffic Offences Speed gun Operation on Oakley Vale/Great Oakley School Parking patrols completed to ensure the road safety at School times. Road Safety awareness activities have been delivered in the local schools. Drug Dealing and Drug Misuse Dedicated Kingswood estate officers and PCSOs tackling Drug Harm and ASB – Op Revive. Regular and daily visits to educational establishments talks regarding Knife Crime and Gangs/County Lines conducted by our designated schools officer. Several arrests and disruption of key nominals linked to the supply of class A which is currently under investigation with CID. We’ve carried out several drugs’ warrants. Multi Agency days which include collaborative work with several partner agencies, including NGAGE who specialise in supporting young people in relation to drug harm.
