Please be aware that theft from vehicles remains a priority for Northamptonshire Police following a recent increase in opportunistic thefts. Many of the offences have been of a ‘smash and grab’ type with offenders breaking windows and grabbing anything on view. This includes loose change, charging cables indicating there may be something of value within the vehicle and retail bags, even when empty. As such it is advised to ensure that additional caution is exercised to remove all items from view whenever leaving your vehicle, however insignificant that item may seem. Arrests have been made and proactive patrols continue to attempt to bring offending parties to justice.
