On Monday 10th February 2025, PCSO Matt Taylor from the South Northamptonshire Neighbourhood Policing Team visited Deanshanger Primary School and delivered the Northamptonshire Police - Blue Butterfly presention to all years.

The Blue Butterfly Scheme promotes personal safety to young people, in a fun and informative way and covers key aspects of personal safety including, bullying, personal safety, online safety, and also features the hand of trust and identifying who young people can talk to.

The scheme replaced the old “stranger danger” scheme, as in 90% of all cases where crimes have been committed by an adult towards a child, the adult is known to the child, it is therefore essential we move away from this old terminology.
