ASB week of action |
||
Dear Resident
This week is ASB week of action. However it is more than a week campaign. It’s a call to action. A chance for all of us—police, local authorities, housing providers, community organisations, and, most importantly, residents—to come together with one clear message: anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated, and we will stand together to address it head-on. Anti-social behaviour isn’t just loud music or public nuisance. It can mean harassment, vandalism, drug misuse, intimidation, or reckless acts that damage trust and cause fear. It chips away at people’s sense of safety, their health, and their right to enjoy their homes and neighbourhoods in peace.
During this Week of Action, we're doing more than raising awareness. Today’s theme Vehicle Nuisance – Let’s Tackle It Together! Vehicle nuisance includes things like dangerous driving, street racing, loud engine revving, and gatherings that cause disruption. It also covers abandoned vehicles, untaxed vehicles, and cars left in dangerous or inconsiderate places. 📢 If you see it, report it: 📞 For emergencies or a crime in progress – call 999 📱 For non-emergencies – report online at www.police.uk or call 101 🌐 To report untaxed vehicles – visit www.gov.uk/report-untaxed-vehicle Let’s work together to keep our roads and neighbourhoods safe. 👮♀️👮♂️ Beyond enforcement, this is also about empowerment. Encouraging victims to speak up, knowing they will be supported. Motivating communities to stand together, knowing they will be heard. Enabling young people with the opportunities and guidance they need to stay on a positive path. We know anti-social behaviour doesn’t disappear in a week—but this week of action demonstrates what’s possible when we unite. Let’s continue the momentum beyond this week. Together, we can reclaim our streets, restore pride in our communities, and make it clear that respect, safety, and community spirit are values we all share—and will defend. | ||
