Theft of a motorcycle from Kettering Road North, Northampton |
Dear Resident We are appealing for information after a motorcycle was stolen in from Kettering road North, Northampton. The theft occurred between 4am and 6am on 30th July 2026. Did you witness anything? Did you see anyone or any vehicle(s) in the area that looked suspicious? If so, then please contact Northamptonshire Police on 101 quoting ref: 26*453229. Alternatively you can report online here. You can also pass on information anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. There are some simple but effective things you can do to help protect your vehicle.
Vehicle: Never rely on just your steering lock, as thieves can easily snap it with a hard kick. Use at least two different types of locks. Fasten a heavy-duty disc lock through your brake rotor. Use an alarmed disc lock that triggers a siren if the bike is moved. Use a 16mm (or thicker) hardened steel chain. Loop it through the motorcycle's frame or swingarm, not just the front wheel, as front wheels can be easily detached. When away from home, lock the chain to a secure ground anchor, lamppost, or robust metal railing. Keep the chain off the ground so thieves cannot use the floor as leverage for bolt cutters or a sledgehammer.
Further security tips and advice can be found on the Northamptonshire Police website and on the Neighbourhood Watch website. If you would like to contact your local policing team, visit the Your Area section of our website.
