Harmful content finds them! Find ways to secure their Network.. |

Dear Parents, Carers, Grandparents, Aunties Uncles and Next of Kin I'm one of the Early Intervention PCSOs who work alongside Young people across the county to support them to create positive pathways, learn from their mistakes and create new opportunities, through education, listening and guiding. Many of the young people describe unwanted media posts as an outside influence that affects their decision making. Often believing this is what everyone else is thinking or likes. Also exposing them to an array of negative responses , negative language they don't always understand and opinions that don't always fit with your family values. Northampton Sire Police launched its “Eyes Wide Open” campaign this year to raise awareness and offer internet safety advice to parents through joint working with the NSPCC National Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Children. Take a look at this video to help you understand that your Young people are not always intentionally seeking out harmful content it finds them, you may also struggle with this in your own algorithms or feeds, Please be aware there is some flashing images https://youtu.be/L1c7FpVwWNg Along side this please check out the NSPCC site which can help you tighten internet security and gives helpful advice.
