The Neighbourhood Alert messaging system enables residents, businesses and community groups to keep in touch with local policing teams. You can choose to receive updates on crimes, latest information on on-going incidents and learn more about what events are being planned in your area. You can also respond to messages to ask questions or give feedback to your local policing team.

Local Priority Issues

Priority Action taken

Previous priorities for April to September 2025:
• Burglary
• Drug dealing and misuse
• Road safety and traffic offences

Issued 12 January 2026

Burglary:
• As part of an initiative to help prevention burglary, we issued 39 doorbell cameras and 12 solar lights to local residents.
• Our PCSOs visited every burglary victim to provide reassurance and offer crime prevention advice.

Drug dealing and misuse:
• Seven cannabis factories were located and investigations carried out.
• Fifteen people were arrested in connection with drugs offences following information received from the public. Officers also carried out a number of stop searched on people suspected of drug related offences.
• Officers carried out regular checks at the addresses of those identified as being vulnerable to being exploited by drug dealers (known as cuckooing).

Road safety and traffic offences:
• We continued to run Operation Pacify, our initiative to focus on tackling the anti-social riding of motorcycles, and during the six month period, three bikes were seized.
• Officers issued seven postal charges for road traffic offences, carried out speed enforcement in Oakley Vale and Great Oakey, as well as regular patrols around schools in relation to parking issues.

ASB Motorcycle Nuisance

• We continue to run Operation Pacify which is the operation to tackle the anti-social use of motorcycles, and we’ve responded to 17 incidents in the three months from October to December.
• Multiple postal charges for road traffic offences have been issued, with further investigations completed relating to motorcycle nuisance.

Drug Dealing & Drug Misuse

• 10 stop searches have been carried out relating to drugs.
• Six arrests made for drug related offences as a result of information supplied by the public.
• Two summons issued relating to drugs supply, with multiple cases opened for further investigation
• Regular checks carried out at the addresses of those identified as being vulnerable to being exploited by drug dealers (cuckooing).

Road Safety & Traffic Offences

• School parking patrols have been carried out.
• 24 people have been reported for summons relating to road traffic offences.
• Six investigations have been opened and remain active.
• 16 people have been arrested and charged with drink or drug drive impairment offences.
