You can also respond to messages to ask questions or give feedback to your local policing team.

Our priorities are set for a six month period and reviewed every three months to ensure we continue to deal with what matters most to local people, taking account of feedback shared in our local priorities survey and local crime data.

Road Safety & Road Traffic Offences

Issued 01 April 2025

Here’s an update on our work to deal with road safety and traffic offences, which were a local priority from April to September 2025:
• We’ve completed several speed enforcement patrols in areas highlighted by the community as being of particular concern, issuing warning letter to drivers and fixed penalty notice to drivers as appropriate.
• We’ve seized 12 vehicles in relation to motoring offences such as having insurance or MOT, and eight people were arrested in connection with offences including drink driving and driving while disqualified.
• During the six month period, our have issued 29 fixed penalty notices relating to road safety offences such as speeding and driving standards.
• We’ve issued a total of 29 fixed penalty notices for road safety offence such as speeding and driving standards. Working alongside our council and education partners across the area, we’ve also continued patrols outside local schools in response to parking issues.

Drug Dealing & Drug Misuse

Here’s an update on our work to tackle drug dealing and misuse, which was a local priority from April to September 2025:
• During the six month period, we made 16 arrests relating to drug offences, with many resulting from community intelligence.
• Investigations have resulted in 29 charges and 35 out-of-court-resolutions for drug related offences.
• We’ve carried out regular checks at the addresses of those identified as being vulnerable to being exploited by drug dealers (known as cuckooing), and we‘ve conducted numerous drug warrants following information received from the local community.

Burglary

Here’s an update on our work to tackle burglary, which was a local priority from April to September 2025:
• Four people were arrested in connection with residential burglaries and our officers continue to visit the area of every domestic burglary to provide support to vulnerable victims, carry out high visibility patrols, and work with partner agencies to provide crime prevention and security advice.
• We have also held regular community engagement events across the town and rural wards. These provide an opportunity for residents to meet their local officers, share any concerns they may have about their local area and get crime prevention advice.
